About Tomorrow 2014

Part I Design Tomorrow / Part II Art Tomorrow

TOMORROW 2014

Korea Tomorrow first opened six years ago as a fair where visitors could observe first hand, the potential and trend of the Korean contemporary art industry. During the past five years, the large-scale annual art fair has gained traction in the art industry, overcoming challenges and variables in and out of Korea, a testimony to the art fair’s unique position and role within it. This success is in no small part attributed to the underlying principle guiding the planning of Korea Tomorrow: to provide an overview of the current status, a bearing for the future direction of Korean art, specialized in a large-scale exhibition along with robust marketability and popularity. Furthermore, it has been the unfaltering trust and hope towards the future of Korean art that has been a major motivating strength that has powered Korea Tomorrow to its present address. This year, the venue is at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (東大門 – DDP), managed by the Seoul Design Foundation. The event will open as Tomorrow 2014, sponsored by the Kansong Art and Culture Foundation. The purpose behind this year’s choice of venue is to expand Korea Tomorrow beyond the definition of an art event, to reach a greater breadth of audience and to communicate visual pleasure to a wider audience, turning a new chapter for Korea Tomorrow as an arts and culture event. Tomorrow 2014 remains true to the original intent of Korea Tomorrow in promoting new stimuli and creation of culture for contemporary art in Korea where talented Korean artists and their artwork can be discovered for the global art market. Moving forward, we have great expectations for this year’s Korea Tomorrow, with a new springboard for a new year.
